Pre- grade One...

This is a Bridging group for children who have already completed Pre- primary, but are not ready for the pressures of Grade One. In this group, the child will handle all that is done in the first term of Grade one, over a period of one year. This group has been found to help the child who is for one or other reason not one hundred percent ready for formal education.

(emotionally/mentally/language other than English spoken at home)

Children, who complete this year, are at a definite advantage when they enter Grade One and flourish.

This year prevents your child who has already completed pre-primary from becoming bored, due to repetition.

Grades One to Three…

Over the years, this section of the school has produced extremely good results.

We focus on Phonics, Reading, Handwriting and Mathematics. Environment Study, Art, Music and Physical Education also form part of the school day.

We aim to give the children a solid foundation in all the above areas and teach the basics following the “good old fashioned” methods. Our classes are kept small (max 6 pupils per grade)

The children are educated in a relaxed atmosphere and are taught on a one to one basis, in their home langauge (either English or Afrikaans)

Once they have a solid foundation, these children are able to adapt to any school environment should you wish to move them at the end of Grade 3
