"My son was at the school the first year of his life; I could drop him off in the morning and go to work knowing he would be looked after well. It’s one of the only day care facilities that uses old fashion material nappies (every parent should know by now how bad the chemicals in disposable nappies are – and how it affects our carbon footprint); every child has his/her own bedding that’s not shared with others. Every child get’s his/her own cutlery and crockery at feeding times; at some day care facilities I’ve seen children sharing cutlery – you can imagine how the germs spread. You get a daily report in your child’s book, on their sleeping, eating and nappies used etc. during the day. Besides the basic cleanliness the kids are cared for and nurtured in a loving environment – the way you would at home! " |

Dagsorg met 'n verskil
Die naaste aan enige ouer se hart, is hulle kinders. Besluite rondom kinders is daarom van die belangrikste besluite wat enige ouer ooit kan neem. Omdat enige mens se fondasie vir die res van sy of haar lewe voor die ouderdom van sewe gelê word, is hierdie jare ’n baie belangrike tyd in enige kind se lewe. Invloede en indrukke bly lewenslank omdat hulle sement nog so nat en vormbaar is.
Die belangrikste bestanddeel in die resep vir kind grootmaak is beslis liefde. Maar liefde het die balans wat dissipline verskaf nodig om effektief te wees. En die abc van enige goeie disssipline is roetine en die konstante voorbeeld van die versorger wat sonder woorde maar net met dade opvoed. Dit is wat suksesvol al vir 24 jaar gebeur by Squirrels, Tessa Strack se speelgroep- en dagsorgsentrum in die Paarl. Tessa het besluit om haar suksesstorie te dupliseer en maak nou ’n Squirrels in Jan van Riebeeckstraat 18 (oorkant Hugo Rust) oop.
Tessa verskaf kwalitiet-versorging waarvan die kinders wat reeds deur haar hande is, haar beste getuigskrif is. Haar behoudende aanslag ten opsigte van opvoeding onderskei haar beslis van die gemiddelde daar buite. Daar word bv. stories uit boeke gelees en TV word nie gerieflikhiedshalwe ingespan om die taak vir die oppassers te velig nie. By Squirrels is speel opvoeding én vermaak. Daar is baie persoonlike interaksie en die enigste tyd wanneer babas in hulle bedjies gelos word, is wanneer hulle slaap. Hierdie band wat tussen versorger en baba is een van die belangrike komponente by Squirrels.
Hierdie dagsorg/speelskool is so huislik moontlik ingerig om kinders tuis te laat voel. Deur die getalle laag te hou, word hierdie atmosfeer versterk. Tessa se filosofie is gebasseer op beginsels wat werk. Christmas Party:
Our annual Christmas party was held on 16 December at our Paarl campus.
Mothers' Day 2011:
We held a very successful Mothers' Day tea at our Wellington school and in the afternoon at our Paarl school. It was enjoyed by all who attended.
Our promotion at Paarl Mall:
A big thank you to all our parents who helped out at the weekend. Although our stand was quite small in comparison to other stands, we had numerous visitors and handed out about 60 brochures.
